KHAO — CANU? SUSTAINABLE FASHION EXHIBITION

In 2022, BLOOP BLOOP was commissioned by CanU? for its Sustainable Fashion Exhibition to create an installation using recycled materials. This brief led to the creation of KHAO, an alien-inspired floral sculpture.

Standing at 3 metres tall, the installation featured a base structure constructed from recycled metal, while its distinctive buds were formed by assembling used Nespresso capsules into a playful, polka-dot façade. The sculpture was finished in a vibrant blend of teal, green and blue, transforming discarded materials into an expressive piece of sculptural art.

We had the pleasure of bringing KHAO to life on the façade of the iconic building at 52 Yongfu Road, Shanghai. For its second presentation, the façade installation was reimagined and transformed into a functional chair, before being shipped to Shenzhen for a continued exhibition.
